The online catalog allows you to search for books, journals, conference proceedings, and reports in all libraries on campus. It does not, however, allow you to search for articles within journals. You can search for items by author, title, subject, and keyword. When you find the book or journal, make note of which library owns it and copy down its call number.

Grainger also offers several customized databases that allow you to more quickly locate journals, conferences, and Engineering Documents Center reports.

• The currently received journals and Complete List of Grainger Journals databases provide the call numbers of journals held only in Grainger and allow you to determine the exact issues held and which issues are out to be bound.
• You can search across multiple society publications databases to find the call numbers to many conferences or reports published by societies such as IEEE, NASA, SPIE, etc.
• You can search the Engineering Documents Center collection to locate reports written by members of the University of Illinois engineering departments.
