The Engineering Documents Center Collection
A Document Delivery Service at Grainger

The Engineering Documents Center, established in 1966 by the Engineering Publications Office in the College of Engineering of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is the depository for all technical reports produced by the College. The Center generally defines a technical report as any report that has not been published elsewhere in its entirety. The EDC collection is housed at the lower level of the Grainger Engineering Library Information Center.

The Collection:

Over 14,000 titles. They comprise primarily of 23 departmentalseries. The collection includes reports written for governmental and industrial projects, theses written as technical reports, and some reprints of journal articles.

Lending policy:

The Collection lends reports toother libraries in accordance with standard interlibrary procedures through IRRC at the Main Library when it has two copies of a report. Master copy documents are for use at the Grainger Engineering Library only. Loan copies may be checked out for three weeks.

Photocopy Order Service:

All nonrestricted documents are available as photocopies.

Price quotations will be sent on request. Prepayments are required for all orders.

Approximately a report of 6 pages weighs about 1 ounce.

Upon the retirement of Mrs. Mu-chin Cheng, Documents Librarian of the Engineering Publications Office, College of Engineering, the Grainger Engineering Library has assumed the responsibility for the (EDC) Collection, effective April, 2000. We would like to thank Mu-chin for her many years of service to the College of Engineering.
